On March 12, 2009, the UCSD Injury Epidemiology, Prevention, and Research Center was officially launched and celebrated at the Faculty Club. The event was hosted by Chief of Trauma, Raul Coimbra, MD, FACS and Linda Hill, MD from Family and Preventive Medicine, both had been patiently waiting for the celebration. The highlights for that evening included two patients who were both treated for their traumatic injuries at UCSD Trama Center and UCSD Regional Burn Center.
